OCCT

The functionality OCCT has to offer can be classified into two categories: monitoring and testing. The application can monitor the CPU usage, memory usage, temperature, voltages, and fan speed. On top of that, the application can test your CPU, GPU, and your power supply. If you’re not going to use OCCT in a commercial environment, you can access the aforementioned functionality for free.

The OCCT installation file is 6.6MB in size. When you run this file, you are presented with a setup wizard that, with its simple instructions, helps you quickly get OCCT up and running. It must be mentioned here that you could choose to get two other OCCT editions, mainly OCCT Pro and OCCT Live. Both have more features to offer than the regular OCCT version (but they are not free for personal use).

The red-themed interface is made up of two windows: one that lets you access the application’s testing functionality and a monitoring window that lets you switch from one monitoring style to another one (table, real-time graphs, both) and lets you choose where you want the monitoring window to be displayed (to the right, to the left, or as a floating window).

Using OCCT is a very simple process. Take a look at the monitoring window to view information about the CPU usage, memory usage, voltages, temperatures, and so on. From the application’s main window, hit a button and OCCT will start the test. You have 4 tests to choose from, tests that will check your CPU, GPU, or power supply. It must be mentioned here that OCCT comes with a handy test scheduler feature. And speaking about features, it must also be mentioned that there are three OCCT editions to choose from (OCCT, OCCT Pro, and OCCT Live) and the plain OCCT one has the least amount of features to offer. On the bright side, it’s also the only one that’s free for personal use.
